Summary
This page explains what I did that I believe improved my physical abilities. The “Imprinted Faces” page explains an idea that is necessary to understand the process I used.
What I Used
I used pictures of people whose faces I believe were imprinted. One of them, an older sister, was seven years old when I was born, so I used pictures of her when she was eight or nine years old. I used pictures of my mother and grandfather when they were in their 70s.
Note: My grandfather died when I was 2 ½ years old. However, when I look at his picture, I have a very strong emotional reaction, which makes me think he is imprinted.
What I Did
I talked to the people in the pictures. My goal was to emotionally connect with them while looking at their faces.
I talked about how I felt about them, including what I appreciated, what hurt me, and anything else that kept me emotionally engaged.
I also talked about how I felt about myself, including guilt, shame, self-blame, or anything else that came up.
I found that the things that were hardest for me to say were often the most useful.
I maintained eye contact with the person in the picture while talking.
I did the process with photographs, not with the actual people. I don’t believe the process would have worked if I had tried to do this with an actual person.
How Long I Did It
I generally spent about ten minutes per day with each picture. I did this daily and rarely missed a day. I do not know whether longer sessions would have produced faster results.
Important Limits
Everything on this page describes my own experience and my interpretation of what happened. I do not know whether another person would have the same experience or obtain the same results.
